Another weekend out with Shay's grandkids - Molesend Kashmir and Molesend Kaftan, this time at Wolsingham Agricultural Society's open show. Our breed judge today was Mrs Fiona Brannan (Benruadh) and the group judge Dr Nigel Blackstock (Ardvreck).

Ash was up first in the junior class which she won and then Tony was next in the Post Graduate class, which he also won. I was delighted when Ash went on to be awarded Best of Breed and therefore Best Puppy in Breed at only 11 months of age.

Ash faired very well in the adult group being placed 4th in group out of a large number of Hounds. She bettered this in the puppy group being declared Best Hound Puppy. Thanks to both judges for these fantastic awards.

Today was possibly the busiest showing day I have ever known and was a real family affair!!

After an incredibly wet journey north with Kristen, Molly and Lacey, Shay, Ash, Tony and I had a very good day at Scottish Kennel Club Championship show indeed. This was Team Tan and White eat your heart out, with their being 5 tan and whites in our car!!

Sam (Golderg) was busy at the Northern & Midland Counties Beagle club Championship show so I offered to take her two puppies, Molesend Kaftan (Tony) and Molesend Kashmir (Ash) to SKC with their grandfather Seamus.

Tony was up first in the Junior dog class and I was delighted when he was placed first, being the youngest in the class. After a small break while other classes were judged, Seamus was up next and won the Open dog class so Daggi Kocur kindly stepped in to handle Tony in the challenge. Shay was then awarded Best Dog and Tony Reserve Best Dog and Best Puppy Dog.

After a very quick trip to the benches to grab Ash, I didn't have time to catch my breath as she was in the Junior bitch class, again being the youngest in the class and again (to my delight) being placed first in a strong class. After more bitch classes were judged, Ash was called in to the line up and was awarded Reserve Best Bitch and Best Puppy Bitch.

Seamus was quickly grabbed from the bench for the Best of Breed challenge and was awarded Best of Sex of Breed and then a quick swap and Tony and Ash were up against each other for the Best Puppy Competition which was awarded to Tony.

So from the three dogs I showed:

3x First places
Best Dog in Breed
Best Puppy in Breed
Reserve Best Dog
Reserve Best Bitch

Phew...What a day!!

Many, many thanks to our breed judge Mr Gary Clacher for a wonderful day.
